"Fungi Friday- A Beautiful Surprise in a Palm Tree"
The forest in my village always holds surprises, especially after several days of rain. On this exploration trip, my attention was drawn to an old palm tree that had been lying for a long time. This tree seemed to be home to various small life forms, including one that caught my eye—the Gymnopilus luteofolius fungus.
I found this mushroom in two stunning states: one was already in full bloom, showing its bright yellow lamellae,
and the others are still small, as if embarrassed to show their full beauty. Interestingly, the size of the smaller mushrooms even looks smaller than my index finger, making them look so fragile yet incredibly beautiful.
To capture this moment, I photographed both mushrooms from various angles. With the help of natural lighting and a little flash, the bright yellow color of the blooming mushrooms really stands out, creating a perfect contrast with the dark tree trunks where they grow.
On the other hand, smaller mushrooms give a sense of simplicity, as if inviting us to appreciate the beauty in the smallest details.
