Ig Nobel Prize
In 1991, the "Ig Nobel Prize" appeared. This is a parody of the most prestigious scientific prize – the Nobel.
It was founded by the American mathematician Mark Abrahams and the humorous magazine "Annals of Improbable Research ".
The prize is awarded in October at Harvard, and it is awarded by serious people, real Nobel laureates, however, dressed in funny clothes, wearing fake glasses and false noses.
The purpose of the award is to draw attention to unusual and witty achievements and thus spur people's interest in science, medicine and technology.
Ig Nobel was awarded for developing a method of treating rhinitis in whales remotely from helicopters, for a method of combating allergies by kissing and having sex, for a comparative analysis of jumping dog and cat fleas, studying the dynamics and enhancement of ear growth with age, for the theory of spilling, explaining why coffee in a cup splashes when walking.
The "Ig Nobel Prize" is penniless, it is expressed in fame, honor, funny medals and prizes.
