Discovery of the eighth planet of the Solar System

In 1846, humanity learned about the existence of Neptune – the eighth and farthest planet of the Solar System at that time.

It was the first planet discovered by mathematical calculations. They were made by the French astronomer Urbain Le Verrier.

However, his Paris colleagues did not accept his calculations, demanding visual confirmation.

Le Verrier turned to the Berlin Observatory and its assistant Johann Gottfried Galle began observing and on 09/23/1846 he saw the planet.

Le Verrier proposed to name it Neptune in honor of the Roman God of the seas. He was supported by the first of the most authoritative astronomers of that time, director of the Pulkovo Observatory Friedrich Georg Wilhelm von Struve.

The strongest winds in the solar system are raging in the atmosphere of Neptune, they blow at a speed of 600 meters per second. One year on Neptune lasts almost 165 Earth years.

I was curious how that would convert to miles per hour. This is what I got from YouBot (you.com)...
