The Hive Tech Conference 2024

avatar

It was on 9th March 2024, the very first Hive Tech Conference in Kumasi (I stand to be corrected). This conference was attended by many prominent people and some chiefs of some towns in the country. Once I got there, I joined my friends to do a little publicity (reminding some of the people we invited about the Conference). I came back to some cultural performances.

Unfortunately, the first speaker Mr. Spencer Korankye, a lead consultant and students coach had already spoken so it was left with 4 more to go. After the cultural performance, the only lady speaker of the 5 speakers, took to the podium to talk about the world of Artificial Intelligence. Someway somehow, during her presentation, I lost her; but I got something from her presentation though. At least I remember that she spoke vibrantly and she knew what she was talking about. She was fantastic.

The next speaker, the President of Ghana STEM Network and IOT Africa, Mr Joshua Opoku Agyeman*, talked about the Internet of Things and WEB3. Fortunately, I had met him ago a week before the Conference at a workshop and as usual, He didn't fail to deliver. What intrigued me during His presentation was the fact that one day, even our socks and dressing will be electricized and able to collect data. That's crazy right, yeah.

The next speaker was an Entrepreneurial guru with so many titles, Mr. Emmanuel Appiah. He came to show us the various avenues for financial education, encouraged us to read "Rich Dad Poor Dad", and advised us not to make our smartphones turn into liabilities. He also talked us into taking online courses on platforms like Udemy and Coursera to better ourselves, enrich our CV and make us fit for the world in some years to come.

Finally, it was time for the odogwu himself @mcsamm to make his appearance on the stage. He took to the stage and carefully dissected the blockchain to all listeners. I learned a lot of things I never knew about the blockchain like how downvoting works and all of that.

After all the speakers were done presenting, we moved to the other side which was the Panel Discussions. The Honorable speakers took their seats to address all questions from the audience. There were a lot of questions coming in and due to time constraints, the session had to be cut short.
Most of the questions were about the blockchain and how it went about its operations.

After that, we took some photographs, and it was time to go. I got to meet and interact with other hives I only knew by their username before then; @abenad, @depressedfuckup, @abu78, @yahuzah, @rubilu and @nhaji01. That was very refreshing, to see people you talk to on the online space for the first time. I also met some of the people I had met before, @awuahbenjamin and @nattybongo: I got to meet the man himself, @mcsamm.

The MCs were amazingggg. They kept us laughing the whole time and made the program a lot more interesting. I wouldn't want to miss any program they MCed.

We were served with some refreshments, and it was finally time to go.
The conference was a huge success. We were educated, entertained and fed. It was so amazing. Wouldn't have missed it for anything. Looking forward to the next one.

It was very nice meeting you for the first time Adwoa ☺️. The conference was indeed a huge success and I learnt more than I thought I would. All the different presentations about web3 and Mcsamm’s endearing presentation about hive were on point.

I hope we get to do more of this 🔥

It was nice getting to meet and talk to you offline as well. I’m looking forward to the next time we meet again at one of these. Maybe we can have a full blown conversation then:)
