Using the Internet is very rewarding and at the same time lands us in trouble, in as much as we might seen it as living in our private life on the internet, there are things that we do on the internet that can even land us in jail.

3 Things that we shouldn't do on the internet.

  1. Threatening to release someone's nude pictures:
This is one common act on the internet that can easily land you in jail. In Ghana, this act is seen as a criminal act and is liable to not less than 10 years and not more than 25 years in prison. This is seen as a way of exhorting money or blackmailing someone for money without their consent and this is a criminal act. This is something we should avoid because we might easily be caught and persecuted with the law.

  2. Non-consensual sharing of images or videos- sharing explicit images and videos without someone's consent. This is seen as causing distress, emotional stress and shock to someone especially when it is initially understood that the content will remain private and not to the public.
In Ghana this act can result you in not less than 1 year and not more than 3 years.

Spot on sir with this reminder on responsible internet particularly this era where a long of the millennial generations are on the internet. It's a powerful space, but your cautionary notes on legal consequences are vital as we take it for granted particularly in Ghana. Let's all advocate for a safer digital space or it may consume us all one da.

This is why it’s very important to be very careful on the internet just as we are in the real world.

Both takes caution to navigate but many see the internet as a place where they can do and undo without any consequences. It’ll be a good thing if these laws are becoming effective as the internet world grows
