August 1, 2024. Facts of the Solar System Planets. Venus 1
Today I continue the section on Facts about the Solar System planets with the planet Venus.
Venus is the second planet in distance from the Sun. It has a sidereal year of 224.7 Earth days and sidereal day 243 Earth days. This means that a day in Venus is longer than a year in Venus. Venus has the most dense atmosphere of the Solar System. It is made mostly of carbon dioxide and sulphuric acid and , at the surface it exerts a pressure 92 times that of the Earth's atmosphere. The temperature in Venus, as an average, 464 degrees Celsius.
Venus is the planet closest in size with respect to Earth. Its radius is 6,051.8 Km, 0.95 times that of Earth.
