Leaving my Smartphone for a Weekend

If you are a 90s kid like me or even older then you must have all been told in life that there are 5 Essential things in Life namely

Food, Water, Clothing, Sleep, and Shelter

These are the OG Essential things in life where each and everything played a key role in our lives and after some time there comes a thing called ELECTRICITY which became also a part of the Essential Things in Life and I wholly agree with that as without Electricity our lives wouldn't have progressed as fast as it has in the past decades without Electricity. So I completely agree that Electricity has indeed made its way as an Essential Component in our lives.

But Smartphone as an Essential Item is Simply Absurd

But the truth is that Smartphones have indeed become an essential part of our lives if not an Integral part. I have been using a smartphone since I was like 16 years old so it has almost been over 15 years So staying away from my smartphone even if it is for a weekend is pretty much impossible for me and I want to cite the reasons why it would be impossible.

For starters my Job requires me to constantly be on my Smartphone wether it is to update my bosses or just to check details of Orders and Payments, everything needs to be done via my Smartphone.

Next is the fact that my father has indeed scolded me numerous times for switching off my Smartphone while I was away from them in College. I do understand that it was so that my parents can reach me as they had no other option than calling me but that has instilled a rather unique discipline/habit where I never turn off my Smartphone unless it runs out of Juice.

Next would be Internet which is slowly becoming an integral part of our life and Smartphones are the key devices through which we normally browse the Internet

And there are several other reasons why it would be close to impossible to stay away from my Smartphone for even a weekend. But while I was writing this post I thought about a possible scenario where hypothetically I could stay away from my Smartphone for a Weekend and that is if I go on a Holiday Trip with my Wife over the weekend and ask everyone in my close family to always call her for any information while I stay away from my Smartphone. But even then it would be really tough to stay away from my work calls but I will certainly try to achieve this in the upcoming months and once I do that I will most certainly write about the experience.
