I Can't Forget my Primary School Days Physical Education Experience in Play Field
Physical education is a very important subject that I learned during my primary school days. The subject is a very important one that focuses in the interest of teaching children all about physical fitness through play and the use of instruments to demonstrate. The main aim of PE is to help children also understand the importance of keeping health alive. During this period of PE, I and my colleagues used to be very happy about the physical education play and body movement. Despite being happy about physical education, I didn't have the full knowledge of what it can do to my health because all I used to see back then in my primary school days was a means to play and sing many songs that have not still departed from me.
I know then as a child that my PE teacher used to take us to the playfield in order for him to teach us about the subject using play and body movement. Truly, I didn't understand what we were doing at that stage but I know they're things I learnt then that are still in my memory to date. I have not forgotten how the bell will be ringing by the bell ringing monitor, all my primary school mate used to jump up and down because it was time for PE. Right there inside the classroom, we'll start to display so many songs we used to sing at the PE playfield. With the help of those songs, I have not forgotten the name of my PE teacher and the memory of me sustaining an injury from my friends when we were high jump.
So many memories have not left me about PE but now, education is fast changing in Nigeria as most primary pupils have no knowledge about what PE is all about. Imagine PE that we used to have different competitions to face against individuals, class to class, school to school, zone to zone, and state to state. I don't think I'll ever forget those wonderful moments with friends and colleagues. All I know about PE is that my teacher will always warn us to stay away from unwanted plays to may make us sustain injuries but know how a full PE will be done in one term without any student sustaining injuries.
I want to appreciate the #hivelearners community for such a wonderful space to share those wonderful experiences about my PE in school days. Why I'm much happier about the topic is that I just remembered that they're special students that I usually respect so much anytime PE is on the corner. This set of people used to make my class primary school mate happy because they can run very well, do short put very well, do short and high jump very well, do badminton very well, and at the end of the PE term competitions my class used to take first or second.
For some of my friends, we were only good at the number of songs we used to sing and dance around at the PE playfield. During the song's display, we used to clap our hands, shake our waist, and then dance around in maintain one single line. Both male and female primary students are always in one single line singing and dancing. Most times by the time we are done with singing and dancing we'll form two different lines where males will be in one line and the female in the other lines. The first and second person's to be in the line are regarded to be very strong in strength. Now we male lines will have to hold each other from behind so that the person in front will not cross a line as the female line will not draw to win us. The male line and the female line will be drawing each other to see the line that'll cross the winning line. We were all doing the activities in PE with joy and happiness.
One major activity I have not forgotten from my primary school PE is playing table tennis. I developed a very good interest in table tennis playing from my primary school PE days and up to now, I can still play it very well.
I have not also forgotten the knowledge my PE teacher gave me about the use of a first aid box including the instrument, how they work, and how they're used.
You made me laugh.
I never joined such rope competition because outrightly that I was weak.
That's usually fun dear. You must have missed that stage.
