Feeling the Divine writings of Nature

Can we talk about the gods of Nature or 'only' about the divine nature of Nature ? I know that depending on where you look in the world, spirituality is either growing, continuing to grow or has been totally wiped out by atheism, which for me, I'm sorry to say, is a real negation of what makes us human. What human animals do in relation to other animals is "believe".

And no, we don't "believe" in science.

Science is a field where the consensus is constantly changing and migrating, and where the cards are reshuffled every day, as a matter of principle and as discoveries and advances are made.

Basically, I had begun by titling this article 'Trying to Decrypt the writing of the Gods of Nature', but in the end, that doesn't seem quite right and it's the term 'decrypt' that I have the most difficulty with.

It makes me think of the researchers who want to understand everything, and decode the human genome in particular. Of course, the primary desire is to cure incurable diseases, and that's all very laudable, but very often, and all too often, these discoveries become distorted over time, and such advances end up backfiring on the people.

That's partly why I prefer the term 'feel'. Because what is beautiful for what it is - and nothing more - we don't try to understand it, analyse it or rationalise it.

You feel it, observe and admire it.

I may be a European, nurtured on the decaying values of my continent, but my world is still populated by spirits, forms and manifestations of the divine.

All you have to do is open your eyes.

That's what the labyrinthine writings left in the sand by the tide that I saw every day on the beaches of Brittany reminded me of. And even though I took great pleasure in making these images - always equipped with my Nikon D5500 and its Sigma 17-70mm lens - I had the simultaneous impression of acting like a voyeur... Much more so than if I were taking photos of people in the street, for example. Go and find out why.

Patterns that repeat themselves, and in the end, in even ten centimeters of one of these grooves, that tells you that the whole Universe is there and can be approached without disappointment.

DSC_0304.JPG

The most materialistic will object that there is nothing there but sand and marks left by the receding water. That's their right, and I don't deny them it.

Others will simply see nothing...

But I, and I hope some of you, see in it everything that our fragile existences can represent, we human animals, who have the choice between the divine or the diabolical. With all the nuances in between, of course !

Thank you for visiting, and I hope you all have a lovely day,

Science is a field where the consensus is constantly changing and migrating, and where the cards are reshuffled every day, as a matter of principle and as discoveries and advances are made.

My physicist hubby would disagree with this. There's the basic laws of the universe, he'd say I suppose, and everything else is just agenda or people that don't understand what they are talking about. There are natural laws that cause things - we percieve the poetry, the divine.

He sees god - the divine - in the science. I see it in the emotional response to the beauty created. Somehow it works.

Here is god after the rain in a gum tree.

I agree that there is perpetual, physical and universal laws, but it's more our rational understanding of the whole that is perpetually changing and evolving :)

Beautiful answer you and the gum tree brought here <3

PS: How do you use its gum or latex if you do ?

I don't use the gum - some bleed a resin that we use as an incense when we light the fire (light and put in a ceramic bowl) but it's generally not used. I have heard tell the cider gum is called so as they used to make a 'cider' out of it but I'm not sure. Sadly the trees here aren't as useful in that way as some Euro trees.
