the thing that stood out to me is that all these people didn't give up on their findings. The best thing about science is that eventually the truth comes out and the paradigm shifts. The pioneers always struggle, but through my lens of optimism I see them being recognized eventually. Luckily we no longer put scientists do death - there is some progress 😉
Fun fact, heliocentrism was discovered by ancient Greek astronomer Aristachus in ~300 BC. What Galileo did was provide a body of the strongest evidence, using his observation of the moon phases, Jupiter and Jupiter's moons that pointed to heliocentrism.
