The ocean planet
Source
GJ 1214B is an exoplanet orbiting the red dwarf star GJ 1214, located about 40 light-years away from Earth in the constellation Ophiuchus. It was discovered in 2009 by the Hubble Space Telescope.
One of the most remarkable features of GJ 1214B is that it is in the so-called "habitable zone" of its star, which means that it could have conditions suitable for the existence of liquid water on its surface, as some claim, and some venture to say that it has no rocky surface at all, which is why it has been named the ocean planet.

However, it is uncertain whether the planet has water or whether it is habitable for life forms as we know them.
GJ 1214B is about 2.7 times larger than Earth and has an estimated mass of about six times that of our planet.
Because of its size and composition, it is classified as a "subneptune" or "minineptune", suggesting that it may have a thick atmosphere composed mainly of hydrogen and helium.

Scientific investigations have attempted to determine the composition and atmospheric properties of GJ 1214B using techniques such as transit analysis, which studies how the star's light is dimmed as the planet passes in front of it. These studies have suggested the presence of an atmosphere rich in water vapour and possible clouds.
