Solar halo
Source
A solar halo is an optical spectacle that occurs when sunlight refracts off ice crystals in high clouds.
When this happens, a circle of light forms around the sun, creating a beautiful ring of colours.
It is as if the sun is surrounded by a shimmering, magical halo. The most common colours that can be seen in a solar halo are red, orange, yellow, green, blue and violet.
The frequency of each colour in the visible spectrum is measured in terahertz (THz) or hertz (Hz).

For example, red light has a frequency of about 430 THz, while violet light has a frequency of about 750 THz.
It is important to note that looking directly at the sun can be harmful to the eyes, even during a solar halo, so it is recommended to use appropriate solar filters or view the phenomenon through safe methods, such as projecting the image onto a clear surface.
The solar halo is a reminder of the beauty and wonder that surrounds us in the sky. If you are lucky enough to witness this phenomenon, take a moment to enjoy it and marvel at the magic of the universe.
