The process of scientific research

(Edited)
Scientific research is a systematic and organized process that is used to acquire new knowledge and understand the world around us, it is based on empirical evidence and logical reasoning, and is characterized by its objectivity, accuracy and verifiability. Although there may be variations in the way the stages are presented, the general process of scientific research includes a series of steps that are mentioned in this publication.

Scientific research begins with a doubt or problem, this problem or doubt must be clear, specific and capable of being investigated, usually the identification of a problem arises from the observation of a phenomenon, the review of existing literature or practical experience. Once the problem is identified, an exhaustive search of the existing scientific literature on the subject is carried out, this review allows to know the current state of knowledge, identify gaps in research and avoid duplication of efforts.

After the literature review the researcher asks himself if there is an alternative hypothesis, a hypothesis is a possible answer to the research question, it is an educated guess that is based on the available evidence and that will be tested during the research, the hypothesis must be rigorously tested by means of experimentation or observation. To start the experimentation, the design must be established where it is defined whether it will be experimental or non-experimental, the sample that would be the object of studies is defined, as the data will be collected with surveys, interviews, direct observation among others.

The collection of the data is carried out based on what was proposed in the experimental design as mentioned above, it is essential to ensure the quality and validity of the collected data, then the data are analyzed using statistical programs, said data analysis allows to identify patterns, trends and relationships between the variables, the results of the data analysis are interpreted in relation to the hypothesis raised and it is determined whether the evidence supports or refutes the hypothesis.

The results of the research are communicated to the scientific community and the general public through publications in scientific journals, presentations at congresses, technical reports, among others. The publication of the results allows other researchers to review the work, replicate the study and build on the findings.

Dear readers, it is essential to consider the ethical aspects at each stage of the research, ensuring respect for the participants, the confidentiality of the data and scientific integrity. While these stages provide a general guideline, the research process can be flexible and tailored to the specific needs of each study. Sometimes, the stages can overlap or even be reversed. Peer review can also be established, which is a process in which experts in the field evaluate the research work before publication, this helps to ensure the quality and validity of the results.

In summary, dear readers, scientific research is a rigorous and systematic process that allows us to acquire new knowledge and better understand certain phenomena by following the stages described, researchers can carry out valid and reliable studies that contribute to the advancement of science.

Thank you for reading our articles, until a next publication.

That is the beauty of science and how a community builds on top something like blocks in a building. Knowledge is built with bricks and each scientist or group is part of this construction!

Good afternoon friend, thanks for your valuable comment, certainly every researcher begins to build knowledge from problems or phenomena that are studied. Knowledge is built and socialized.

See you later, have a great week.
