Scientific research is a fundamental pillar of the university sector, it is through it that universities generate new knowledge, expand the frontiers of knowledge and contribute to the progress of society. No matter the area of knowledge, research will always be an effective tool for university professors to provide data, methods and theories that can be socialized with students to strengthen the creation of knowledge.

From our point of view there are several reasons why scientific research is fundamental for the university sector in the first place Generates new knowledge since, research is the basis for the creation of new knowledge in all areas of knowledge, through research, scientists explore new hypotheses, develop new theories and discover new phenomena, this new knowledge is essential for the progress of society in all its areas.

It also helps the training of researchers, taking into account that Researching is an essential part of the training of university students, through participation in research projects, students learn to think critically, solve problems and communicate their ideas effectively, these skills are essential for success in any professional career. Likewise, it promotes innovation because research is the engine of innovation, new knowledge generated by research is the basis for the development of new technologies, new products and new processes and innovation is essential for economic growth and the competitiveness of nations.

On the other hand, it helps to face the challenges of society, because research can help to address some of the most pressing challenges of society, such as climate change, poverty and diseases. In addition to strengthening the reputation of universities due to the fact that universities with a solid research activity enjoy greater prestige and recognition at national and international level, this undoubtedly attracts the best students and professors, and allows them to compete for resources and scholarships.

In this same vein, we ask ourselves a question: How can we promote scientific research in universities?, several answers can arise to this question that, although it is not an absolute truth is our point of view, we think that investment is fundamental coming from governments and private institutions, this can be done through scholarships, grants and other financing mechanisms. It is also important to have the right infrastructure, universities should have the right infrastructure for scientific research, such as laboratories, libraries and computer equipment.

In the same way, the research culture should be promoted, with this we mean to promote or stimulate intellectual curiosity, critical thinking and collaboration between researchers. After stimulating critical thinking, training programs should be established for both teachers and students, this training can include courses, workshops and seminars of people with high experience in scientific research and who know how to transmit the knowledge that is required. Another important aspect is to recognize and reward the work of researchers, this can be done through awards, scholarships and other recognition mechanisms.

Final considerations
Dear readers, in conclusion, scientific research is fundamental for the university sector, it is through research that universities generate new knowledge, train researchers, promote innovation, face society's challenges and strengthen their reputation. It is important that governments, private institutions and universities themselves work together to promote scientific research, only in this way can it be guaranteed that universities continue to be engines of progress and innovation.
