Fruits are a gift from nature, full of nutrients and flavors that delight our palate, among the great variety that exists, drupes and berries stand out for their unique characteristics and delicious flavor. Then, each of them will be described:

Let's start with the drupes, these are fleshy fruits that are characterized by having a single seed enclosed in a hard bone, this bone, also known as the endocarp, protects the seed and allows it to disperse through different means. In that sense, the hard stone is the most distinctive feature of drupes, they have fleshy pulp, the edible part of the fruit is fleshy and juicy, among the examples of these fruits are cherries, plums, peaches, olives, mangoes among others.

Then we have the berries, the berries, which are fleshy fruits with multiple seeds and without a hard stone that wraps them, their pulp is juicy and soft, and the seeds are scattered all over the inside of the fruit. among the main characteristics of berries, we have multiple seeds, unlike drupes, berries contain several small seeds, soft pulp, the pulp is softer and juicier than that of drupes, examples of these fruits we have, grapes, tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplants, guavas, peppers, blackberries among others.

As can be seen the main difference between drupes and berries lies in the presence or absence of the stone, if a fruit has a hard stone enclosing the seed, it is a drupe, if, on the contrary, it has multiple small seeds scattered through the pulp, it is a berry. Knowing the classification of fruits allows us to appreciate the diversity of nature, and select the most appropriate fruits for our culinary and nutritional needs.

Both drupes and berries offer a wide range of flavors, colors and textures, each of them provides essential nutrients for a healthy diet. Some examples of the benefits they provide are vitamins and minerals, they are an excellent source of vitamins A, C and K, as well as minerals such as potassium and magnesium, They help protect our cells from damage caused by free radicals and provide fiber that favors the proper functioning of the digestive system.
