Planning for an Upgrade to Smart TV
Television is kind of part of our life and it is something that we all have in our houses. It's not a luxury anymore I believe instead it's more of a necessity that everyone likes to have at home as we do have other electronic appliances including the refrigerator and many more. Technology has evolved a lot in the last few years and now whenever I see some people upgrading their television they mostly do it to the Smart TV because it is the common technology available across the world. The TV I have as of now is seven years old but it is creating a problem with its picture quality and its time for an upgrade which I am planning to do soon.
The TV I have was purchased in 2015 and since then I have been using it with no problem at all. It's not a smart TV but it worked without any issues however now the trend is common for the smart TV and people often prefer to upgrade to the same. I believe I should also follow the trend because it is always a better idea to upgrade with the latest technology. Buying a traditional TV now is not a good idea it seems because that is an absolute technology and even the display quality has been upgraded a lot in the last few years. Now the quality is like 4K or OLED kind of screens are available in the market and I am planning to visit some stores this weekend to explore what are the available options. Probably this weekend can be a good idea to explore some models and see whether I should buy it offline or online depending upon what offers I get.
This is festival season in India and sales are ongoing on online websites and offline stores. Websites like Amazon and Flipkart are offering a discount on almost everything but it is a big electronic product so I prefer to check the prices in the offline market as well before buying and it will give me a better idea to decide whether I should go online or offline. Some very well-known brands are Samsung LG Sony and Panasonic etc and I have gone through some of the models available on online websites. The problem is that I do not have any idea about its pricing and what should be the latest technology so visiting the store can be helpful to have a physical demo of different models and see what are the pricing range available in the market. Maybe the pricing can be better online but you never know because sometimes even offline is stored and offers better pricing and they are also offering many discounts this season because of the festival time.
TV is something that people buy for the long term and even I do. I easily expect that I should be able to use the next TV for at least five to ten years whereas the last one I have used for eight years which I think is a good amount of time. It is a better idea to buy something which is built on the latest technology so that in the next few years I do not feel like it is obsolete and does not offer whatever is available in the market now but if I go with the latest technology then at least for next few years I should not feel like this. The screen size is another confusion that I have not yet decided so I'm still not sure whether I should go for 43 inches or 55-inch screen size.
I have gone through some of the articles and videos on the Internet and got to know that there are multiple factors that should be considered while buying a TV and some of them are listed below
- Screen Size
- OS- Fire TV, Android or Google TV etc
- Screen resolution (Full HD or 4k etc)
- Sounds options
These are some of the reasons why I'm still not sure what options I should continue with and this is quite confusing for me so I hope that after visiting the store I should be able to have a better understanding since they will allow me to show some models. These days we have multiple options for everything and this is why choosing one is quite confusing I remember that when I purchased the phone that I also there were so many models and finally I made a choice to buy the one which is good for me based on my usage. Now I find a similar kind of confusion here also and this is the reason why I prefer to visit the store first and see how I can decide which is a good option for me.
Thank you

it's been like two years I'm planning to buy a smarttv and the worst mistake I did wasn't purchasing it but waiting for the right time.
Now the prices are way out of my reach.. I'm just waiting and hopefully there will be a big discount soon with sales this 11/11 or 12/12.
43 inch is a good enough size, I've seen in the market.. but if you want much more big screen go for 55inch!!
I would suggest 4k uhd with latest android version. I know all these confusions but I'm sure you'll figure out before discounts are gone.
Now mostly people upgrade to the smart tv and these are quite expensive. It's better to buy when there's some sort of sale is going. It's sad that you missed to buy before but I hope you a better deal against.
Yes I will go for 4K UHD with Google TV OS.
I bought an ONVO smart TV last month as our previous TV has malfunctioned. ONVO is a Turkish producer. Screen size 65 inches. 4K. OS is Android. The price is around 350 USD. Other TVs with such features are around 1000-1200 USD in Turkey.
Price wise it's a great deal I think because for 350 bucks you can't get 65 inch 4k tv. This brand name is new for me and here the common brands are samsung, LG and Sony etc. I am also trying to find a good deal for 43 or 55 inch screen size.
43 or 55-inch screen size is also better in terms of electric consumption.
Right. I am going to buy between these 2 sizes as more than 55 is too big for me.
wow let's go. Just buy buy buy. whale problems xD you can't figure out which you want. I think you should build a movie room and have a big screen with amazing sound system
Haha. I am not a whale bro. 🤣🤣
The one I have is 8 year old and it has problem. It's time for upgrade. I am looking for a cheaper deal. Hope it get it
i think you should wait. I'm not sure if your country does but in US. they have black friday and cyber monday which is after thanksgiving which usually has a lot of stuff on sale O.O. you can look for cheaper deal during this time
Diwali festival time is the best time to get better offers in India and we don't have black friday. Diwali is around the corner and sales are started in different stores including online websites like Amazon.
oh thn maybe this is the time for u to buy :D. nice means im getting holiday in malaysia too lol. we get holiday for that i think
I know that Deepawali is celebrated well in Singapore and they have public holiday. I think it's off in Malaysia too but not so sure. There is little India in Malaysia too so those people must be celebrating
yup we get holiday too~. i think some schools give one week
I agree that visiting a store can provide valuable insights into the product you're considering. Sometimes, the tactile experience of seeing and hearing a TV in person can make all the difference.
Plus, store representatives can offer expert advice tailored to your specific needs.
Very well said mate and this is why I want to visit store so that I get to know what is going on in the World of tv technology. Usually we buy tv for years and don't try to keep ourselves updated with latest tech. I haven't decided whether I am going to buy online or offline but visiting store will help me have more information and thereafter I can plan accordingly.
Yay! 🤗
