Oxyopes salticus Spider (male & female)

Spiders are a type of hoofed animal in the order Araneae. There are many species of spiders scattered in various parts of the world and sometimes they even live in human environments such as at home, also many live in the bushes and in the forest.

As for today, I want to share a species of spider that lives in bushes, even this spider can be said to be the king of spiders in leaves. It's not without reason that I say that, because so far at least I have observed how the life of the spider with the scientific name Oxyopes salticus is.

If in general spiders make nests or traps from their webs to trap prey, this does not apply to the Oxyopes salticus spider. This spider actually skillfully hides behind the leaves while patiently waiting for its prey to come. And usually small insect species become a delicacy for Oxyopes salticus spiders.

Several species of small insects are usually types of moths, caterpillars and even small beetles. And interestingly, the size of this spider's prey is not smaller than its body size, but this spider can even prey on insects that are the same size or even slightly larger than its body size.

As is the case with other types of insects or animals, spiders are also created to have partners or have two sexes, namely male and female. And in this post I deliberately share two types of Oxyopes salticus spiders, namely male and female.

The male Oxyopes salticus has two front legs that resemble crab hands, while the female does not. As for the size of the two, they are relatively the same, that is, they are not bigger than one another. Some of the photos of the Oxyopes salticus spider above are of the male sex, while some of the photos of Oxyopes salticus below are of the female spider even seen in the photo she is guarding her egg nest.

The spiders I saw were amazing. You take great photos. And only this time I can tell the difference between males and females. And the review you gave is also very good. Congratulations and continued success bro @alexa-macro.

Regards!
