Monomad - Valley Carpenter Bee (Xylocopa sonorina)
This is my entry for the daily #monomad challenge
Earlier at around 10.30 WIB I was again hunting for insects in the bushes which were filled with fresh grass and also flowering grass. I chose this area because there are definitely many types of insects such as grasshoppers, moths, bees and several other types of small animals including spiders that inhabit the bushes. And sure enough I managed to take some macro photos there, but from some of the shots earlier I was more interested in sharing some photos of the valley carpenter bee on today's #monomad challenge.
The bee, which has the binomial name Xylocopa sonorina, often visits fresh wildflowers on bushes. And I had to catch it to make it easier for me to photograph it. If not, of course it is very difficult to be able to target this bee because he only briefly approaches one flower and then quickly flies towards another flower. And some photos of Xylocopa sonorina bees I have uploaded below. Here are some photos:
