Monomad - Nothopanus & Lentinus squarrosulus mushrooms
This is my entry for the daily #monomad challenge
A few days ago I managed to take some photos of the mushrooms in the cacao garden area, this white mushroom with beautiful gills I found growing on rotten cacao stems. It is a Nothopanus mushroom belonging to the Marasmiaceae family. This mushroom is indeed more interesting to look at from the bottom or from the direction of the gills than from the top of the mushroom umbrella itself.
Another fact is that I often encounter this mushroom growing in large quantities at the same time. It's rare that I find these mushrooms growing apart although it can happen. They like to grow on rotting logs, most often on rotting cacao, areca nut and other rotting branches and it occurs within a few days after a rain has fallen on some of the rotten wood I have mentioned.
Then there is the lentinus squarrosulus mushroom, which I once cooked with the addition of instant noodles. Even though the texture and taste are not as good as mushroom or sago mushroom, it is enough to make instant noodle dishes more delicious. Unfortunately yesterday I didn't find it in large quantities, even though I still wanted to cook it again.
