Monomad - Flat Bark Beetles (Cucujidae)
This is my entry for the daily #monomad challenge
A few days ago I found a beetle that looks quite interesting to me, and I have never found this species before. In terms of its characteristics, this beetle has a fiery red color on the upper part of its body (including its head to its wings). While on other parts such as legs, antennae, eyes, and mouth are black. And the most prominent part is the mouth which is like the shape of a crab's front legs.
As for the beetle that I am sharing, it seems to be a beetle in the Cucujidae family. These beetles are known as "flat bark beetles" and the source also mentions that the Cucujus species eat larvae from other species that have the potential to damage plants. So that this beetle can be considered useful for living trees.
Then below I include some photos of the beetle that I mean. Hopefully it's worthy of being a #monomad challenge collection today.
