Fungi Friday - Halloween Yellow Pumpkin

IMG20230603114817-01.jpg

This is my contribution to #FungiFriday by @ewkaw

While looking for mushrooms around the outskirts of the swamp some time ago I found quite interesting mushrooms, both in color and where the mushrooms grow, namely growing on rotting plant roots. Of course this is unusual because usually I find mushrooms growing on dead wood, rotting leaves and rotten palm bunches. But those yellow mushrooms that look like the shape of a Halloween pumpkin grow on plant roots.

The yellow mushroom that I found is part of the fairy cup fungus or also mushrooms in the Ascomycota division. And I'm sure this mushroom is a yellow fairy cup mushroom or also part of the Bisporella citrina mushroom from the Helotiaceae family. And below I have included some photos of the yellow mushrooms I mean, hopefully they can add to mushroom photo collection on today's edition of #FungiFriday 16 June 2023.
