Paying for beer using Hive Keychain!

Hive thumbnails (1).jpg

gm and happy Sunday!

Had a bit of a work day today, but no worries, I still managed to finish before sunset and head down to the local pub to make a quick video on how to use @keychain and @v4v.app to pay an Lightning invoice instantly.

It's incredibly simple and this merchant, who already accepts bitcoin payments, will never know the difference. To them, it's just another customer paying with bitcoin.

In my opinion, every Hivean should try this out. Someone looking over your shoulder might get curious and ask what you're doing.

I've also posted this video on X. Feel free to stop by, comment and share:

Anyway you can get these great places to open a hive account so that you can get discounts when you claim with Distriator.com?

Restaurants like this can be tricky. This place gets regular audits from the Internal Revenue Service, health, and even Performing Rights Organizations (PROs), so they're a bit reluctant to try anything that isn't sttrictly by the book and could potentially get them fined. I spoke to my new barber shop though and I'll be onboarding them shortly and sharing some videos with my experience.

Small shops like that are more willing to try something new.

its a shame, if there is an issue, their crypto wallet address can be given to the IRS and they can easily see transactions coming in!

I hope you are only shaving the beard in the barbers ;)

Yes, weekly beard only. The salon, which I go to about every 6 months might be another place to #spendHBD. Access to any other content will require a paid INLEO creator subscription.

Here no phosical store accepts bitcoin, it's blasphemy. Once, for testing, I tried v4pp and it works great, I bought a store coupon with bitrefill paying btc via hbd. It's excellent and super easy

You can also consider peer-to-peer transactions. Bitrefill is a great option too. The options are growing all the time.

I have done some peer to peer on some site (can't remember the name now) but most require kyc nowadays... It would be great to have PayPal for crypto outside the US, now it's restricted

And as you see, you earned enough for another glass - even in Scandinavia, $20+ should be sufficient :))

Time to put the infinite beer glitch in action my friend. The funds from this video will be used in my next purchase.

That is cool. Post like this gives me hope that mass adoption of Crypto will actually happen in my lifetime.

It's happening right before our eyes. Cities like Cumaná, Lagos, Buenos Aires, San Salvador and Guatemala City are leading the charge. The time to get familiar with your #freedomtools is now. Start using them my friend.

In no time, crypto will be widely used as mode of payment. A few stores in Hongkong are also accepting crypto as payment.

If they accept bitcoin over Lightning, you can pay with Keychain using the $HIVE and $HBD you've earned.

Hive doesn't require gas, it uses something called Resource Credits which are rechargable. All you need to do to have RC is stake some HIVE. Transaction fee for Lightning is very small and paid during the transaction.

That was a solid video. I've seen many V4 videos and yours are better and the clarity was good. I think sharing on Twitter was a great idea too

This one was quick & dirty; no editing. I usually add some text and voiceover to make it nicer.

The idea is to also share on Twitter to try to get more people to try these tools.

That’s really cool man!

Just curious, Is this considered SpendHBD transaction or the merchant has to be registered to SoendHBD and must accept HBD directly from you?

This merchant already accepts Bitcoin over Lightning. I simply used @v4vapp to pay a Lightning invoice with $HBD in my HIVE account. It's super user-friendly.

It's so interesting to see it works as a legal tender. I am fairly skeptical of its use all around the globe (as a legal tender but I guess one day it'll happen :D

Yes, using it in real world situations is a huge use case. I hope you decide to try it one day. Start at a place that accepts bitcoin over Lightning. It's the easiest way to get started. After that, there are many ways of using magic internet money :)

Spending HBD in real life will mean really much. I just wish that the chain can flow frictionless

Amazing! Paying for beer with Hive Keychain and Lightning shows how practical blockchain technology can be in everyday life. Cheers!

Pretty amazing, isn't it? For the waiter at the restaurant it was just another customer paying a bitcoin Lightning invoice. The amazing tech is behind the scenes.

You are right! This technology changes the way we think about speed, scalability, and accessibility in payments. Awesome! Have a great day!😊

This is massive to know
This type of post makes one to be so optimistic about the future as regard the crypto adoption

yes, massive and you don't need to do anything special to use it other than have a HIVE account with enough $HIVE to make a purchase 🍺

nice.. I have used the v4v app to trade BTC for Hive quite nicely.

A good use case for them.

Yes. I believe this is currently THE MOST compelling use case for HIVE as far as individual users goes. We're on our way to bringing more businesses here which is the most certain way to take $HIVE off the market, driving price up, and attracting more individual users.

Hive's growth is inevitable.

There is a pub in Theale (nr Reading, England) that accepts such payments or so I believe, I found this info on https://btcmap.org plus apparently a barber in Crowthorne takes lightning too.

It would seem quite surreal using Bitcoin or Hive via v4v.app in the UK, as I associate it so much with Central America, I guess because it’s talked about so much in those countries.

If I get the chance to buy a beer from the pub I mention, I’ll do a post. If they still do accept such payments and it’s a nice pub, could be a great Hive meet-up location, it’s close to the M4 and has two train stations nearby.
