Vitex pinnata

Hey nature observers! Here I want to share some macro photos. I've often come with insects, but this time I'm sharing one of the typical tropical flora.

These were taken in the local woods while I was looking for fascinating insect spots one day in June. Vitex pinnata (in Indonesia called the laban plant) is a tree belonging to the family Lamiaceae. This plant is native to Southeast and South Asia.

There are many 8laban8 trees that are easy to find in our forests, with a height of approximately 4-5 meters. Flowers profusely in spring, with white and purple petals, white filaments, and black anthers. The ripe fruit—sadly, I forgot to take the documentation—is dark purple to black and is a favorite diet for wild birds. The leaves and bark are used as herbal medicine to treat diarrhea, fever, and malaria.
