Olepa ricini

I often see this in the woods, mostly in the morning, and that is when this nocturnal insect sleeps. But somehow it happened that this moth could stray into my yard. Maybe it got lost, and that morning it was seen asleep in the mango tree in my yard.

Based on its physical characteristics, I can confirm that this moth is Olepa ricini which belongs to the family Erebidae. This species is distributed from South Asia to Southeast Asia.

Oops! Seemingly I had awakened her slumber, and she flew into the low-growing weeds. I cautiously approached because I didn't want to disturb her sleep. Yes, she must have been very tired after last night's long wandering.
