Monomad: Twig Parachute

I'm back to submit another entry for the daily #monomad challenge.

There are some macro images that have been converted to black and white. They are twig parachutes (Marasmiellus ramealis) that spring up a few days after it rains. Perhaps because they had been exposed to the sun, the parachute caps were beginning to shrivel up. But even so, the mushroom gills still look beautiful in this way. The gills were like a freshly squeezed, split lemon.

Yeah, that's my daily life; living in the tropics has made me so familiar with mushrooms. I feel like I want to hug them if only they were not fragile.

All of the images here are my own work, taken with Xiaomi POCO NFC smartphone and an assembled external macro lens.
