Monomad: The Shrewd Predator

Sometimes I wonder how insect predators hunt their prey. Once, I stalked a robber fly while it was on its business stalking prey on the giant sensitive tree. It was too smart to choose a good spot for camouflage. Sure enough, in addition to possessing a shrewd killer instinct, a robber fly also possesses large compound eyes with vision keen enough to sniff out prey.

Finally, this guy got what he was after. The robber fly is a notorious insect predator. They scoop up their prey, stabbing it with their sharp proboscis.
