Monomad: Smart Hunter

Observing jumping spiders on their hunt is an interesting thing for me. You can learn a lot from them: how they are patient when they are sniffing out their prey, waiting for the right moment to ambush, and when the time comes, they move very quickly to pounce on the target without giving the slightest chance for their prey to escape.

Some time ago, I peeked at the lami jumper (Cosmophasis lami ) sniffing its prey target. I think the prey was a mosquito, or maybe an aphid.

On average, 99% of ambushes made by jumping spiders are successful. This percentage also applies to this lami jumper

Yes, it was successful in finding its quarry. Enough prey for lunch. Even if the jumper wasn't full, it could still set up another ambush. I don't doubt its abilities at all. Yes, it was the expert!

This is another entry I submitted for the daily #monomad challenge.
