Monomad: Old Dark Pierrot

The dark pierrot (Tarucus ananda) is a kind of small butterfly belonging to the family of lycaenids. This is a common butterfly found in southeast Asia and south India. These photos were taken in the local forest of Sukamakrmur, North Aceh, Indonesia. The black spots on the butterfly's wings had faded somewhat. This indicates that it is an old butterfly that will soon enter the death phase; a butterfly normally lives for 2 to 4 weeks .

Oh, how short their lives are! If I could lend my life so they could live longer, I would gladly do that.

This is another entry I submitted for the daily #monomad challenge.

All of the images here are my own work, taken with a Xiaomi POCO NFC smartphone and an assembled external macro lens.
