Monomad: Mica Cap

Here are some macro photos I submitted for the current #monomad challenge. The subject of my photos today is the mica cap, scientifically known as Coprinellus micaceus . The mica cap is a kind of fungus that usually grows in clusters, although sometimes it grows alone. If you notice that, you'll find that the shape of this mushroom cap mimics the haircut of super blunt bobs that was quite a trend in the 80s, or maybe vice versa. This fungus commonly occurs in crevices of large woody roots and loose, moist soil.
