Monomad: Flying miles to collect pollen

I captured a sand-loving wasp one afternoon. In addition to being a pollinator, this wasp also loves to prey on flies, mosquitoes, and several other types of insects. Interestingly, the prey was not for itself but to feed the larvae stored in a sandy soil hole (nest)—truly a responsible mother. At that time, it was not hunting for prey but collecting the pollen from the crown flower. I believe it had left its larvae with enough food.
