Monomad: Devil's Face

"Don't touch it (katydid) if you don't want to have bad luck!"

I remember how the old people in the village used to scare us to stay away from katydids. They said that katydids were another incarnation of the devil. Whether it was a myth or a damn trick, it was enough to make little kids like me believe it.

Katydids are nocturnal insects, closely related to crickets. Their rather scary appearance was enough to represent the fantasy of little kids like me, that this was what the real devil looked like. Understandably, we didn't know about gadgets or the internet when I was little. As a result, we sometimes easily believed things that didn't make sense. But anyway, I enjoyed my childhood.
