Monomad: Creep

Have you ever seen a dark blue tiger (Tirumala septentrionis)? It is a kind of beautiful butterfly whose habitat is distributed in Southeast Asia and parts of the Indian Subcontinent. I have seen butterflies like that several times when walking around the Blang Kolam waterfall in North Aceh.

The dark blue tiger is an agile butterfly, so I can rarely catch it using a phone macro lens. But as solace, I captured a picture of the butterfly larva; it was easy because this guy had no wings.

Like most caterpillars, this is also elastic like rubber; even what looks like spines on its body is soft when you touch it.

These images have been edited in a different monochromatic tone than I'm used to; I deliberately increased the level of grain and strong contrast. For some reason, I love this tone choice too much.

This is another entry I submitted for the daily #monomad challenge.

All these photos are my original work, taken with a Xiaomi POCO NFC smartphone and an assembled external macro lens.
