Mating Season Hypomeces pulviger

Hypomeces pulviger is a species of true weevil belonging to the family Curculionidae. This species was first described by the German entomologist Johann Friedrich Wilhelm Herbst (1795).

The weevil is also known as the golden dust weevil. This presumably refers to the weevil's physique, which is covered with fine, dust-like scales that are yellowish-green or greenish-yellow all over the body.

Based on my observations, I found the same two types of weevils with different colors: yellow and green. I have no idea whether the two colors are the difference between the young and the adult weevils, or perhaps the difference between males and females.

Currently, the dry season is still ongoing at least until the end of August. The mating season for weevils occurs even in hot weather. These are one of the couples caught on my phone camera yesterday. Look at that! How excited they are!
