Male Hyllus diardi
This is the jumping spider Hyllus diardi (Walckenaer, 1837) which was taken a few days ago in the northern area of Aceh. This species is also known as the heavy jumping spider. I think the common name refers to the spider's large body size, or it could be said that Hyllus diardi is the giant of all the jumping spider species belonging to the family Salticidae. However, Hyllus diardi's eyes are smaller than those of most jumping spiders, which have large eyes.
Maybe you often see a white or golden-yellow Hyllus diardi. What I know from some of the explanations I found in related articles, the female Hyllus diardi is white or golden-yellow.
What you see here is a male spider that can be recognized by its black body. In addition, the male has a stocky body compared to the female, which is a bit fat.
