Macro Photography: Glossy Jumping Spider

I captured some macro photos a few days ago while walking in nature. I stopped in my tracks when I noticed two small animals fighting. It’s something that happens normally in the wild. But it was still interesting to me.

There was a jumper fighting with a black ant. It was quite short; the black ant lost and died.

Let’s talk about the winner. Interestingly, it is a female glossy jumping spider (Siler niser)—a cute little jumper with a brilliant mix of colors; metallic blue, red, and dark grey.

Her two front legs were always raised as if to confirm that she was the true winner. But she had to pay a 'high price' for one of her front legs; it probably broke when she knocked her opponent down.

It must have been a tiring fight for her. But she made it through, it was a must for survival in the cruel wild.

All these photos are my original work, taken with a Xiaomi POCO NFC smartphone and an assembled external macro lens.
