FungiFriday: Wild Mushrooms in Sumatra
This afternoon, I got a WhatsApp message from a friend who wanted to invite me to go hunting for mushrooms. "Come on, buddy! Where can there be mushrooms in hot weather like this? It hasn't rained in a month." I politely refused his invitation. I know he must have run out of mushroom stock. But it can't be helped; it's impossible to hunt mushrooms at times like now.
I was a little luckier than him; I still have some mushroom photos taken last December, and today I can share them with you on the #fungifriday challenge.
Among them, there is a mushroom that I think belongs to the genus Coprinellus or could be Conocybe.
I'm a little hesitant to determine whether it belongs to the genus Coprinellus or even to the genus Conocybe because it appears to be a juvenile mushroom.
...and there is an ice cream fungus, which is better known as the bird's nest fungus (family Nidulariaceae).
This fungus is a fairly rare item. But don't do anything crazy and put ice cream in the funnel if you don't want to lie in the hospital. LOL!
"Excuse me! Let me pass and don't try to take my picture!" This little guy shouted at me fiercely.
