FungiFriday: Stinking Dapperling (Lepiota sp.)
These were taken a week ago on an intentional mushroom walk. When I saw these mushrooms growing scattered on the grass, the first thing that occurred to me was to pull them all out and put them in a plastic bag to take home.
But then I had to think again; if they were poisonous, it would be something that had to be paid dearly for. Often, people who misidentify mushrooms can have fatal consequences and end up in the hospital.
I tried to identify the mushroom and found that it was a stinking dapperling, which is a species of mushroom belonging to the genus Lepiota.
The mushroom has a white cap, the surface is rusty copper red, some have scales, and it has white gills, but it will turn dark brown to black when it withers. It looks beautiful, but it turns out to be very poisonous.
It's good that you identified that it was a poisonous mushroom, dear friend @akukamaruzzaman. but I have to admit that they look beautiful.
