FungiFriday: Dwarf Trooping Funnel in My Yard

Hey mushroom hunters! Have a nice weekend. Here are some photos of the mushroom I shared with the current #FungiFriday challenge.

This morning I had to cancel my intention to go mushroom hunting in the forest. Yes, why should I bother going all the way to the forest when I can find them growing in my yard?

Exactly a day after the rain, kind nature has transformed my yard into a mini mushroom garden that is beautiful to look at.

There I saw the dwarf trooping funnel growing in small clusters on the ground. They're so tiny and adorable; that's why I prefer to call them dwarves.

I observed the physical shape of the fungus in this way and then concluded that this seemed to lead to Clitocybe agrestis, a species of agaric fungus belonging to the family Tricholomataceae. It was first described by Finnish mycologist Harri Harmaja in 1969.

It was also explained that the fruiting bodies are poisonous because they contain the toxin muscarine . Yes, even though they are tiny and adorable, they contain a deadly poison.
