FungiFriday: Brownish Psathyrella on the Litter

It is undeniable that I am always excited when someone invites me to take mushroom walks in the woods. In fact, I rarely exercise and barely have time to do that. So whoever invites me to go out to explore nature every weekend or on certain days when I have free time, I definitely won't refuse.

I consider walking in nature to be good for my health as well as exercise. Yes, that is something that can also make you sweat. What's more, macrophotography activities can be considered a substitute for breathing exercises. Anyone who often does it would know about that.

This is a mushroom walk we did in early June. At that time, we decided to do some hunting around the Bukit Rata Valley, Blang Mangat.

What we first saw when we got there was the brownish Psathyrella. Yes, there are lots of dry leaves that have fallen and rotted on the ground. The litter from the leaves of the plants then attracts the mushrooms, making them fertile.

Soft cream hairs fill the surface of the mushroom cap, and it happens to all of them. In contrast to the brown cap, the gills of this mushroom are white, and the stem is cream to white.

If this fungus was edible, I would definitely pick it up and fill my basket. But no one can tell me whether this kind of fungus is edible. It was a different matter if I found oyster mushrooms or straw mushrooms; I would greedily pick them all up for myself.
