FungiFriday: Bladder Stalk and Angel Wing
I can't remember how many sessions of the #FungiFriday challenge have been running. I'm guessing that even @ewkaw doesn't remember this anymore. ๐ But I don't think that's important, considering that mushroom lovers always gather every Friday in this community. I think that's a wonderful thing.
What mushrooms did you bring today? I've seen some interesting ones, and I'm still waiting for others to come. I have two kinds of mushrooms to share here. Let's see!
There is Physalacria inflata, also known as the bladder stalk. It was found during a mushroom walk in late November 2023. The fruit body of the mushroom is white, with a wrinkled and pored cap. It commonly occurs on rotten wood roots during the wet season.
Next is Pleurocybella porrigens, also known as the angel wing. There are juvenile and adult mushrooms. This is a kind of white-rot wood-decay fungus on conifer wood. If we observe physically, the angel wing and the oyster mushroom are similar, but this one is more fragile. So be careful because this one is not edible.
