Eretmocera impactella Mating Season

That afternoon, the wind blew gently even though the sky was clear. I stopped my steps in a grassy field that was not very wide. I looked around, and except for the swaying grass, I didn't find anything else there.

But there must be something there (I convinced myself), and I had to check more carefully. I looked and kept looking, pushing through the grass that was in the way. Only then did I see something... on the top of the grass!

Oh, those are moths! What are they doing? That's an adult thing! Those who are not old enough must move aside!

Yeah, it was their mating season. Even though they are small, they are old enough to do that.

Both are the same size, so it is impossible to know which is male and which is female. I really don't want to guess!

Eretmocera impactella! There's no mistaking it, that's Eretmocera impactella. This is a species of moth belonging to the family Scythrididae that is common in most parts of Asia.
