Dieunomia nevadensis | Nevada nomia bee

I have often encountered sweat bees of the species Pseudapis bispinosa . They are fairly easy to find in grassy lands, where they usually congregate in small colonies.

When I came across this one, I initially thought that this sweat bee was also a species of P. bispinosa. But then, upon noting the base of the bee's abdomen as having a reddish-lime color, I doubted it was P. bispinosa.

So what is the scientific name of this sweat bee? I found that it refers more to the species Dieunomia nevadensis , whose common name is the Nevada nomia.

If the behavior of P. bispinosa tends to gather in a group, my observations conclude that D. nevadensis has solitary behavior. But this may still be my personal opinion, considering I have never seen this species in a group.

What a cute face this bee has! I'm terrible at identifying insects so I wouldn't have even known where to start with that. You have a keen eye for the details. Lovely photos.
