Dart Skippers (Potanthus sp.)

Potanthus is a large genus of skipper butterflies belonging to the family Hesperiidae. Butterflies of this genus are small with short wings; at first glance, they resemble fighter jets. How does a butterfly fly with such short wings? You'll know when you observe; they fly very fast, and even when your eyes blink, they suddenly disappear from your sight. Yes, like you are watching a magic show. So it is not surprising that they are commonly known as darts. They are found in the bushes, and when the weed flowers bloom, that is when they appear.
