Google is Running Out of Storage?! 👾 I never thought about it before, but all ...

... of Google's FREE services like Gmail, Search, and Google Maps, are supported by their Ad Network. If this kept going, Gmail might not stay free for long.

I think they are already phasing in a subscription model.

After decades of free services, it’s amazing how they were able to lean into this subscription model.

Maybe they'll start deleting older and larger emails in the free version of Gmail. And if they do that, I'm sure they'll present it as a convenient AI-controlled feature.

The perfect example of presenting your Cons as Pros!

And if they do that, I'm sure they'll present it as a convenient AI-controlled feature.

Alphabet and Google can easily afford more if they need it, and free Gmail already has a storage limit.

Difficult times incoming... At the end I'm convinced the Cloud is something that will be more like "The roads". But ultimately every user should have their own storage system... Free users can't be monetized like the old times anymore..

They may come over to Hive

HIVE does not have non-text storage though... Even 3Speak uses IPFS for storage, and that's as far as I know, "public" data. Not good for private emailing.
