Do We Really Need NPUs? This video explains how NPUs work, and if they're really ...
... important in new devices. I find it interesting that GPUs have better AI capabilities than NPUs, but the latter uses less power so it's useful for always-on operations.

I have been a fan of TechAltar for a long time. His Friday Checkout is one of the most useful technology news sources I have found.

Well, I haven't watched many videos of him yet, but I loved this one!
With all services coming from the cloud, it is cheaper and safer to rely on dumb technologies.
Can you tell me more about this?
Yes, instead of getting too involved in AI and super-smart devices, we could benefit from less invasive technologies to fit our immediate needs. Thinking about how we use around 1/10 of our brain capacity, don't you wonder what is the fraction we really use from our machines? and which other fraction is being used by others for unknown reasons? That is why we should keep in mind the useful dumb technologies or thin clients sharing most of their work with servers on the cloud.
