Let's Play "Pizza Panda" First 10 Levels (PICO-8)

Pizza Panda is a simple PICO-8 game about delivering Pizza. There are also lots of Hats and Mice. This is a 17-minutes recording of my first playthrough, featuring the first 10 levels.

Panda is delivering Pizza in his car through the streets to the animals living in the apartment buildings. The goal of each level is to deliver Pizza to the characters pictured in the top left of the screen. Sometimes you'll find a mouse that you have to bring back to its family. It's a wholesome little feature of this game.

The way levels are organized in Pizza Panda is interesting, makes the level menu navigation as fun as the actual levels. The pixel art is cute, it makes full use of PICO-8's limited color pallete. The gameplay is easy to learn. No compliants on either aspect. Though maybe Panda Pizza is too simple so far...

It took me a while to notice that the Animal-Hat combination I should get in each level is pictured in the top left side of the screen. Now I'm used to the game, I'm sure I could complete these levels in less than half the time.

PICO-8 is a Fantasy Console. It's a multi platform application that tries to emulate the limitations of the 16-bit era generation of video games. Despite the limitations, many great games have been developed for PICO-8, and I discover them from time to time. I recorded this Pizza Panda playthrough on a Linux (PopOS) laptop.
