Let's Play "Welcome no Witches" (PICO-8) - A Creative 'Papers Please'-like Game
Welcome no Witches by paperskull is a simulation game for PICO-8 in which you play as a gate keeper of a princesses party and have to prevent Witches from entering.
If you're familiar with the game "Papers Please" this is similar. During each party, you'll have to observe Princesses who visit and identify Witches who violate the dress code. Each level contains strickter dress codes and the game becomes more challenging the longer you play.
I like how at the start you only need to focus on the Dresses and Hair color, but then dress types and hair accessories start to become important too, and a few levels in, even some visitors' names become reason to identify them as witches. That part was very challenging.
You can only advance to the next ruleset if you gained 20 points or more in a level. In this video you'll watch me playing the first few levels of Welcome no Witches.
PICO-8 is a Fantasy Console designed to create, share and play small retro-inspired games. Games made for PICO-8 are constrained in aethistics, code and size to encourage creativity. PICO-8 comes with a built-in code editor, graphics, and sound tools. Games are distributed in image files called Cartridges. In this series of videos, I discover great games made on this Fantasy Console, letting you discover these games with me.
This playthrough was recorded on a Steam Deck. Thanks for Watching!!
