Manga Mondays #28: Finished by 250-300 Chapters
It's a new weekly series like AskAnime where I ask for Manga recommendations. I binge read a lot of manga so I tend to run out of titles on a weekly basis so it'd be great if you guys can give me some recommendations.
Recommend a manga that is completed around 250 to 300 chapters. If you got one that has like 320 chapters, that's fine too, could be great.
Why this much chapters? usually if the manga gets poor reception, it wouldn't even get passed 30 or a 100 chapters unless it's a passion project that gets picked up by a popular publishing company. I'm not looking into a specific genre but if you got someone that's not yet mainstream, that'd be great. I finished Mashle before it was cool.
Mechanics:
- Entry can either be a comment under this post or a separate post with a hashtag #mangamonday28. Please note the number "28" at the end of the hashtag is an indicator of the week number and it'll help me search for recent entries on the succeeding weeks. Making a separate post is preferred but settling for a comment is fine too.
- If you make a separate post about the recommendation, you don't need to specify that it's "Manga Monday Contest Entry 28" or something along those lines, just post it like any regular review post on the community. This isn't a formal contest as the criteria is just looking recommendations to read about.
- Reblogs or upvotes are appreciated but not necessary. Just comment the recommendation or make a post about the manga, that'd be fine.
- It doesn't necessarily have to be a manga, it can be a manhwa or manhua.
- If you already made a post about your recommendation, let's say a manga review posted months to years ago, drop it here as an entry.
- You can do multiple entries in the comments or post but bear in mind that if you shill me a bucket list of titles, I'd probably ignore it.
- Community mods will be curating the entries for engagement. This doesn't mean big votes, we could just be handing out Hive tips for those that engage more just as what we do on AskAnime weekly.

Thanks for your time.
I mostly read sports manga and BL, but I know they aren't your cup of tea. haha
Was thinking of Viral Hit, but when I checked, it was only 218 chapters... xD
I'm reading a lot of ongoing and loooong manga and/or Webtoons now... mostly in their 400-500ish chapters now like Bungo (baseball), Wind Breaker (street cycling), Lookism, Ao Ashi... and so on~~~ T_T
I want more time to read!!!!
I was thinking of Mashle and Magi or Gantz if I was the one answering the questions~
Would it be cliché for me to mention One Piece?
LOL.
I'm not a big fan of very long manga, or those that go on hiatus and end up leaving a void waiting for the next one, but One Piece is perhaps the best known.
There is a manhwa that I really like called I Love Yoo, it is currently on emission, it has 254 chapters, but it has not been updated for a long time.
Most manhwas I have are on hiatus. If they did get updated, it's once a month which means a few more years for a conclusion.
I very rarely talk about manga (that's why I miss some of your events xD), so I dug into my memory looking for something that fits the topic of this mini-competition.
My choice is Kengan Ashura, which has about 236 chapters (I hope I'm within the range). I haven't read the whole thing, only the main part and the parts that interest me, but these are so good that it's worth reliving some of the less successful parts or ideas. As much as we like martial arts in the style of Tekken, but with blood, breaking bones, crushing testicles or eyeballs.
The plot is trivial, inspired by real events (this was not said in the comic), which are especially liked by the Japanese. They love watching life and death fights. Legendary MMA fighter Fedor Emilianenko attended 1 or 2 such events where he was almost choked to death. The main character is Okita Ohma, who represents one of the corporations during the great Kengan Ashura tournament. The goal of these Hunger Games is to determine the leader of all corporations in Japan. This competition involves companies that pretend they're not Sony, Bandai, Nintendo and more. Cool stuff for nerds. The opponents are different, as it is a Japanese comic book, the ones with crazy designs and very exaggerated skills dominate. However, just like in Keisuke Itakagi's manga, there are quite a lot of real threads here. Even though I don't like reading digital comics, I got so involved in the tournament that I had to read some of the fights that interested me the most. One of them is in my top-3 best fights I've seen in anime or manga and so far I've seen it 10 times. Next month during Christmas, I'll watch it again.

I haven't really finished (yet) anything that's completed lately, but as for completed manga that has 300+ chapters, the one that came to my mind is Nanatsu no Taizai. I know you probably heard of this, so I'm going to share with you a recently completed manhwa I'm currently reading. I'm quite hooked up with it right now, but my schoolwork somehow did a good job preventing me from binge-reading it completely yesterday. Btw, it's the Legend of the Northern Blade, and I think it has 200+ chapters (?).The fight scenes are really cool and satisfying, and the MC is really something else! I'm literally procrastinating some of the incoming deadlines now because I'm really anticipating what will happen next after I read a chapter of it.
I was reminded of the "Fist of the North Star" which is a totally different show but triggered by the word north. Some golden age anime.
The panels look cool~
Ahh I see... I'm not really familiar with what you've mentioned, but it seems it's also about martial artists. This manhwa is also about different kinds of martial artists—from those who use bare hands and fists, who use swords and different kinds of blades, to ones who specialize in special techniques such as poison and mental abilities. It's really a cool manhwa, and it totally kept me hooked up.
