WEB4, Generative AI, and Hive's Trailblazing Path: A Closer Look at the Future of Technology

Who's ready for WEB4? I bet not many of you are familiar with WEB4 just yet. I know I'm one of those. I haven't even had my fill of WEB3, and now there's already talk about WEB4, particularly by the European Commission in the EU. So, what exactly is WEB4?

Web 4.0 (or Web4) is an innovative concept outlined by the European Commission and is anticipated to provide truly intuitive, immersive experiences by seamlessly integrating digital and real objects and environments, enhancing interactions between humans and machines.

This integration is expected to be achieved through advanced artificial and ambient intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), trusted blockchain transactions, virtual worlds, and extended reality (XR) capabilities. It is expected to be driven by open technologies and standards that ensure interoperability between platforms and networks, and freedom of choice for users.

So, WEB4 appears to be a mixture of all the incredible advancements we've become accustomed to in technology over the past few years. Offices will no longer be limited to physical spaces, education will take children on immersive journeys to explore dinosaurs and beyond, and gaming will reach unparalleled levels. However, immersive technology makes me think that users will be "immersed in it" all damn day long.

The discussions surrounding WEB4 have emerged within the European Commission, but I'm not one to place much trust in such political entities. Therefore, I'm not particularly thrilled about WEB4. I'm also not particularly excited about generative AI, although Elon Musk is once again making waves with his latest venture, xAI.

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, and Twitter, has announced the launch of his new artificial intelligence (AI) company, xAI, today. Musk, who was once involved with the AI research nonprofit OpenAI, is now entering the field with a venture that aims to "understand the true nature of the universe."

This guy has developed a passion for exploring the universe through technology, and in that regard, I can only wish him luck. When it comes to delving into the universe, I'm more old-fashioned and believe that the ultimate truth, if it exists, cannot be found solely through the use of technology.

China’s new generative AI regulation sets guidelines to promote values of ‘socialism’. You know what's wrong with generative AI? The fact that this type of AI that many of us find to be so productive has to be fed in order to give results.

So, the future and expansion of generative AI appears to be contingent on those who can provide it with information and data. China has already hinted at how this breakthrough will be utilized, and if the rest of the world follows suit, we may find ourselves not so fond of generative AI.

If you've tested ChatGPT by now, you've probably noticed its limitations and how it is designed to avoid being political or "too rude." There are some cheat codes to work around that, but I haven't had the chance to try them yet and push the boundaries of OpenAI's ChatGPT.

Where does Hive stand amidst all these emerging breakthrough technologies? Well, to be honest, it's not really making much of a move. Hive is neither part of WEB4 nor has it integrated any AI thus far. Hive has inherited its lineage from STEEM, and I'm perfectly fine with that. We don't need to reinvent the wheel here. Most of the apps on Hive have a basic design, internal affairs function based on certain principles (some good, some bad), and there's nothing fundamentally wrong with that.

I don't see Hive becoming an "immersive" experience anytime soon, but you know what? I'm okay with that. I'm still more drawn to physical reality than the digital realm. As I've mentioned in many of my posts, I created a digital identity with Hive to ensure that it cannot be molded or controlled in any way.

The tech behemoths are battling for supremacy, and here we are, relaxing in our decentralized, blockchain-based oasis. Recently, STEEM experienced a price surge, and some Hivers started talking about it. But let's not forget, Steem is dead, and Hive is the real deal.

HIVE has been trading in the range of $0.25 to $0.4 for quite some time, even though according to @edicted, we weren't supposed to break through the "unbreakable support" of $0.4. Well, it looks like we did, and there's nothing wrong with that. No one can predict anything in the markets, and ultimately, nothing bad happening is entirely bad. The current price level of HIVE presents a great opportunity for some of us.

If you can recall the early days of HIVE, you might remember that the L1 token was trading around $0.10 before it started rallying and reached an all-time high (ATH) of $3.41. If $0.3 was the bottom during the previous bear market, just imagine the new ATH for HIVE.

In conclusion, I'm cautious about WEB4 and generative AI, as they appear to be controllable by a few power-hungry entities. Hive, on the other hand, is a different breed altogether. When I look at our community, I sometimes see us resembling Amish communities that don't benefit from the latest and greatest technologies and all the fancy stuff the world enjoys. However, we also don't experience post-vaccination deaths, autism, and all the modern-age diseases either.

Thanks for your attention,
Adrian

I believe the concept of Web4, as outlined by the European Commission, seems to blend all the technological advancements we've seen in recent years. It promises immersive experiences, integrating digital and real objects and enhancing human-machine interactions. However, I'm a bit skeptical about being "immersed" in technology all day. I'm also not too thrilled about generative AI, despite Elon Musk's new venture, xAI, which aims to "understand the true nature of the universe."

When it comes to Hive, it's not making significant strides in these emerging technologies. It's neither part of Web4 nor has it integrated any AI. But you know what? I'm perfectly fine with that. I appreciate the simplicity and principles of Hive and its apps. I don't see Hive becoming an "immersive" experience anytime soon, and I prefer physical reality over the digital realm. As for the price of HIVE, it's been fluctuating, but that's just the nature of the market. I'm cautious about Web4 and generative AI, as they seem to be controlled by a few entities. But Hive, on the other hand, feels like a decentralized oasis amid tech giants battling for supremacy.
