Utilizing Narrow Land For Gardening

Hi all friends...

Nice to meet you. How's the weather for all of you, today it's raining where I am, but not too heavy, because from morning until around 5 pm the weather is very hot, so this afternoon there is a little drizzle from the sky.

Now, this time I will introduce some of the plants that I planted last week, so today I see their growth is perfect, from the chilies to some other seeds, this is enough to help my kitchen needs during the harvest later. In the next few days I need to buy more polybags, because the chili seeds I sowed have already grown, so I have to need several polybags for better growth later.

The location where I do my gardening is not large at all, only 2 x 2 square meters is enough for gardening, why is my land narrow because my yard is not wide at all. So from that I took advantage of empty land. I thought that instead of planting grass it would be better if I just planted a few types of stems, so that I could help with kitchen needs, therefore I didn't bother thinking about kitchen ingredients anymore, when these were harvested later.

Turmeric and kencur

Like turmeric which I have been sowing for a long time so that its shoots grow, and several other types such as galangal and kencur, these are my wife's favorite ingredients for cooking. I also really like this type of kitchen spice, and here are some stems from other types of plants that I planted. By having a land area of 2 x 2 meters the maintenance is not too complicated, in a week I only spray pesticides 2 times to avoid pest disturbances. For fertilization, I use about 2 kg of poska fertilizer, then I plant it in the soil once a week, about 2 kg per week.

The galangal looks almost dry because I haven't planted it yet

Now here we can see the growth of chilies that have started to bear fruit, because now they are filled with flowers, maybe in the next few weeks they will grow fruit. I don't only plant chilies in narrow places like this, there are also tomato stems, eggplant stems and even sweet potato stems, actually sweet potatoes really need a large area of land because the stems reach a height of 3 meters or more, but I plant these sweet potato stems only as a necessity The leaves are only used as vegetables.

Eggplant stalks, most likely they will start bearing fruit in about 1 month

Chili trees that grow perfectly without pest disturbance

The cassava stems, which in a few days will be able to pick the leaves

This is my real life, in fact I really have a farmer's soul, but I have to learn from the small ones first so that if I do it in the big way, I will already be there agricultural science. And here I also planted some long bean seeds but it still took a long time for the harvest.

But a week ago I started plowing the land for plans to plant watermelons, but the distance from the house to that place is very far so I have to work on the side first for motor oil and food purposes. I will show it to all of you later. So this time I'm going to show you some shots of rainwater in my garden and also of the flies that are present on the chili leaves every day.

It seems that my life is very united with nature, how about you. Thank you already read

So flies aren't bothered by pesticides, right? 😃 At home we try to avoid them (pesticides), although it is really difficult to preserve the harvest in this way.
You have really done a wonderful job! Of course, first start with the small tasks (area) and then move on to the big crops (again areas). Good luck!

Actually pesticides are not to repel flies, pesticides only repel caterpillars and the like, including aphids. But I am very happy to understand about agriculture. Thank you for you, I hope you are always healthy and happy

it's true as you said that we have to use the existing land to grow vegetables and other plants even though the land is narrow. good idea my friend.
